    Westinghouse developed the material micarta as early as 1910 with the help of resins created by Leo Baekeland. This durable material was used in a variety of applications, not least of which home good such as this bakelite tray. Stamped with the Micarta mark, the design by George Switzer is made of micarta is inset with anodized and dyed aluminum.
