    About the Artist:
    Alvar Sunol Munoz-Ramos (1935-)
    is a Spanish artist, trained in painting, sculpting, and lithography. He is one of the last living Modernist artists. Born in a Catalan fishing village, he started his art education at 17 and won his first award shortly thereafter. Following service in the Spanish Military, he pursued further art education in Paris. He was recognized as one of the top young Spanish artists in the 1960s, amongst contemporaries Joan Miro, Salvador Dali, and Pablo Picasso. From 1975 to 1990 he focused largely on lithography before shifting back to large scale paintings in 2005.
