  • Product description

This 1886 Steinway & Sons piano was known as the “Monitor” or Style 1 and was initially released in 1871. It was designed by C.F. Theodore Steinway, son of founder Henry E. Steinway and was a pioneer design for later iconic Steinway pianos. Approximately 6’8” in length and 4’7” in width, this piano is constructed from Brazilian rosewood which was the standard for this time period. Featuring 85 keys, this was the first Steinway design with a 20-note bass section.Uniquely carved legs and a period carved lattice music desk complete the look of this classic grand piano.
