    About the Artist: 
    Stanley William Hayter (1901-1988)
    was an English painter and founder of the famous printmaking studio Atelier 17. As one of the most influential printmakers in the 20th century, Hayter worked with some of the highest profile artists of his time: Alexander Calder, Pablo Picasso, Joan Miro, Mark Rothko, Jackson Pollock, Wassiliy Kandinsky. Hayter encouraged many of these artists to explore printmaking, leading them to become consistent contributors and collaborators.
