    A beautiful example of a Robert Frederick Blum (1857-1903) lithograph depicting a Japanese woman holding a fan. This was a subject that Blum explored extensively in his career. Artist signature in Japanese style on left.

     

    About the Artist:
    Robert Frederick Blum (1857-1903)
    was a Cincinnati born artist who studied at McMicken Art School of Design in Cincinnati as well as the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, but was largely self taught and naturally gifted. He moved to New York City and explored various styles and mediums, such as pen drawings, watercolors, lithographs, oil paintings. He completed a few large friezes for musical venues in New York City before an early death at 45.
