    By Columbus artist Ralph Fanning, this watercolor depicts the Brewster House in East Setauket, Long Island.     About the Artist:
    Ralph Fanning (1889-1971)
    was born on Long Island. He went on to study architecture at Cornell University and the University of Illinois. He joined the art department at The Ohio State University in the 1920s and became a full-time professor in 1924. Fanning painted many scenes in the Columbus area and Ohio as a whole. He became a professor of American and European art history in 1924 and worked in that position for 37 years. He was constant with his painting and sketching, depicting moments of campus life and Ohio scenery.
