    SOLD Large Erte serigraph features a small woman standing in the center with large wings wrapped around her like a cloak. Her headdress rises up making her look like the beak of a Phoenix, finished off with a vast plume of curling feathers spreading out behind her.

    About the artist:
    (1892-1990) was born in Russia as Romain de Tirtoff. His brilliant and long career is considered among the most influential and unique of the 20th century. Erté's enormous body of work includes 22 years of designing covers for Harper’s Bazaar magazine, which are said to have influenced the entire Art Deco movement. He is also known for designing clothes for many famous actresses, including Joan Crawford, Lillian Gish, and Anna Pavlova. At the age of 75, Erté recreated the stunning pieces of his youth in bronze and serigraphy, sparking a resurgence of The Art Deco movement. His original works are in the permanent collections of prestigious museums worldwide, including New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art, Museum of Modern Art, and the Smithsonian Institution.
