    About the Artist:
    Peter Keil (1942-)
is a German painter and sculptor. Born to two artist parents, Keil grew up in a working class area with his mother after losing his father in World War II. This is where he discovered his love of painting, especially through the contemporaneous expressionist movement and Pablo Picasso. He studied at the University of Arts Berlin during the building of the Berlin Wall, and unfortunately lost contact with influential mentor Otto Nagel. Starting in the early 1960s, Keil established studios in Berlin, London, the US, and Paris.
