was an American furniture designer in the 1950s and 60s. He passed away at an early age in 1969 and his designs have not been in production since, but some reissues are upcoming. During his career, he was firstly a furniture designer, but also designed televisions, radios, hi-fi consoles, and other household objects as well as did design consulting for major companies such as Singer and Goodyear. He was publicly engaged though speaking engagements, television appearances, radio talk shows, and a syndicated design column in national newspapers. He also was a professor of design at Philadelphia Museum of Art. He was honored with MoMA’s Good Design Award five times from 1950-1955. His aesthetic focused on simplicity of form without unnecessary in ornamentation using slender lines and sculptural forms.
