SOLD This reproduction of a Botero of a man and woman sitting at a table playing cards together. They are dressed in finery and the woman reaches back to fix her hair, she looks directly at the viewer as the man ponders his cards.
About the Artist:
Fernando Botero was born in Columbia in 1932. When he was a boy he attended matador school for several years, later leaving behind bullfighting for his artistic career. Diego Rivera’s political murals were a big influence on his earlier works. Botero began studying painting in Madrid, experimenting with proportions and size, he developed his signature style of round, bloated figures.
Excellent condition. Frame shows minor wear.
