Period mid century teapot by Vivianna Torun Bülow-Hübe has an exceedingly Modernist look with a rounded body, sculptural handle, and lid that resembles a drop in a pool of water. The lid lifts for access to the tea diffuser within.

    About the Artist:
    Vivianna Torun Bülow-Hübe (1927-2004)
, also known simply as Torun, was a wildly important and influential Swedish master jeweler and silversmith. She was the first female silversmith to gain global recognition with her work with legendary Danish silver company Georg Jensen. She worked in Sweden, France, Germany, and Indonesia throughout her illustrious career, designing what she called “anti-status” jewelry from twisted sterling silver and stones. Her designs were sleek and innovative, with a strong focus on refined form. Some of Georg Jensen’s most famous designs were of her creation, and she remains the second most famous designer for the company behind Jensen himself. Her work has adorned celebrities such as Brigitte Bardot and Billie Holiday, and be found in high-profile collections of the Museum of Modern Art in NYC, the Louvre in Paris, and the Swedish National Museum.
