About the Artist:
The artist Marianna Edna Volz was born on September 5, 1930, in the city of Cincinnati, Ohio. She studied at the Art Academy of Cincinnati while a student at Western Hills High School, Volz was featured in the Cincinnati Enquirer for a prize won for a painting created while taking classes at the Art Academy.
After gradutating from the Ohio State University, Volz moved to New York City to teach kindergarten and elementary school at several private institutions. While in New York, she met and then married her husband of 32 years, Stanley Krasner, while both were students at the Art Students’ League.
Remembered for her zest for life, her family recalls that she drove a black, convertible Packard with leather seats, and wore beautiful, funky jewelry and clothes. Her nieces also cherish their memories of her beautiful handwriting and her constant commitment to developing as an artist.
