  • Product description

Meeting at the Falls is a classic example of the Haitian mystique depicted in Louis Rosemond’s paintings. A bubbling blue waterfall attracts a variety of wildlife to gather amongst the green leaves and bright flowers. This demonstrates Rosemond’s classic “Primitive Naif” style of depicting figures.

    About the Artist:
Louis Rosemond (1957-) was born in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti, which informs the subject and style of his paintings. Rosemond employs bright, rich colors and a flat profile of subjects. The focus of his works have a heavy influence of Haitian painting and music, depicting jungles, market scenes, and fruits that are in the “Primitive Naif” style popular in his native Haiti. Rosemond has achieved acclaim internationally, and his work is a part of the collections of King Juan Carlos of Spain and Pope John Paul II.
