Lithograph by Panamanian artist Keith de Carlo depicts a geometric scarlet and grey lion. Regardless of his extensive art training, de Carlo preferred a more simplistic, primitive inspired style. Pencil signed and numbered 372/375 with certificate of authenticity attached to back.
About the Artist:
Keith de Carlo (1925-1981) was a Panamanian artist who became an American citizen after joining the US Marines to fight in World War II. On the GI Bill, he studied at The Art Student’s League in New York before moving to Europe to study at École des Beaux-Arts and the Académie de la Grande Chaumière in Paris, France, then the Escuela de Bellas Artes in Barcelona, Spain. De Carlo was a illustrator, print maker, and muralist, creating murals across the United States and Europe.
