    About the Artist:

Li Lin Lee (American 1955) Lee was born in Jakarta, Indonesia and emigrated to America in 1962. He studied biochemistry at the University of Pittsburg and is a self-taught artist who now lives in Chicago. Early on Lee was influenced by European art which he sees as having a more philosophical or more particularly existential approach as opposed to contemporary American art and its sometimes loud aggressive underpinnings. He is also strongly influence by memory of sights and sounds of Southeast Asia where he spent his early childhood, particularly Hong Kong. Lee enjoys the studio process and feels his art has a random unpremeditated quality that is the ultimate human expression.
