    About the Artist:
    David Shapiro (1944-2014)
    was a Brooklyn born multimedia artist who favored using a personal language of symbols to create tactile abstractions with psychological visuals. He studied at the Pratt Institute and went on to receive his MFA from Indiana University before moving to New York City. His works are a part of the collections of the Guggenheim Museum, University of Chicago, Cleveland Museum of Art, and Museum of Modern Art.
