  • Product description

Controversial artist Damien Hirst collaborated with restaurateurs to create Pharmacy, a restaurant and bar in Notting Hill, UK. The interior was completely designed by Hirst, using pharmaceutical materials to create striking decor. The appearance was so akin to a retail pharmacy that the Royal Pharmaceutical Society threatened legal action, inspiring anagrams such as “Army Chap” before changing the name to Pharmacy Restaurant & Bar. The restaurant was closed in 2003, leading to a Sotheby’s auction of the interior contents and the limited commercial release of the Pharmacy Wall Chart wallpaper. Images and dosages for actual medications and drugs are paired with specific Bible verses to create a compelling commentary between art, science, and religion.
