    SOLD Well executed oil painting by listed artist Clara Greenleaf Perry. This colorful painting shows a scene of workers at a dock. Artist signed CG Perry and dated 1907 in the lower right corner.

    About the Artist: 

    Clara Greenleaf Perry was a listed Massachusetts artist (1871-1960). She studied with Frank Benson and Robert Henri, influential artists in the American impressionist scene. After traveling throughout Europe, she returned to New York and participated in a landmark Exhibition of Independent Artists with Robert Henri in 1910, a protest against the established art scene. She was a member of the National Association of Women Artists, the Copley Society in Boston, and the Society of Independent Artists. She died in 1960.
