About the Artist:
Carl Kauba (1865-1922) was a Viennese born artist who studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna under Laufenberg. He also studied in Paris before coming to the United States. He was fascinated by the American West and returning to Europe brought notes, sketches and models. A friend in Ohio is said to have sent costumes to help him accurately portray Native Americans. Though his subjects were American, his work represents the finest of Viennese bronzes of the time period.
This bronze is one of hundreds of pieces of art that are available at our location in Grandview! Come in today and see the full collection.
