    Bronze statue of Bartolomeo Colleoni (1400-1475) who was the captain-general of the Republic of Venice mounted on horseback. One of the most prominent disciplinarians and tacticians of the 15th century, Colleoni was a powerful force. Upon his death, he left a large sum of his wealth to the republic under the condition that they erect a statue of him on horseback in San Marco.
