Circa 1978, this original acrylic on canvas by Cleveland artist Anthony Schepis consists of five panels, painted with tones of orange, purple, and olive brown. This piece has a dynamic quality, appearing to merely be a geometric abstraction at a glance, but seeming to be an aerial view of moving boxes at a further look.
About the Artist:
Anthony Schepis (1936-) studied at Cooper School of Art and Cleveland Institute of Art before he began his long career as an artist in his hometown of Cleveland, Ohio. He would go on to teach as a faculty member at both institutions. Inspired by Renaissance masters, similar luminosity can be found in Schepis’s exceedingly modern works. He now lives and works in Winter Haven, Florida.
