SOLD Bronze sculpture signed by Alfred Boucher has a man and woman farmhand. The man holds a scythe over his shoulder as he protectively has his arm around her back.
About the Artist:
Alfred Boucher (1850-1934) was a French sculptor who worked with Auguste Rodin. Born 1850 in France, his parents worked for Josepeh-Marius Ramus and the sculptor took an interest in the young Boucher. In the 1880's he asked Auguste Rodin to take his place teaching while he moved to Florence Italy to sculpt for royalty. His works won numerous awards from the 1880's - 1900's, and have sold at major auction houses throughout Europe and America.
