    SOLD A lithograph designed by American kinetic sculptor Alexander Calder (1898-1976) titled “Damier”. The print was published in the February 1966 edition of Derriere Le Miroir No. 156 by Galerie Maeght in Paris, France. It features a grid on a diagonal with two squares filled with yellow, two with red, and one with blue.

    About the Artist:

    Alexander Calder is widely considered to be one of the most important American sculptors of the 20th century. He is best known for his colorful, whimsical abstract public sculptures and his innovative mobiles, kinetic sculptures powered by motors or air currents, which embraced chance into their aesthetic. His work first gained attention in the 1930s in Paris.
