Part of Adolph Gottlieb’s Burst series spanning from 1956-1974, “Thrust” shows a brown disk hovering above an abstract black mass, evoking the most basic and reductionary principles of a traditional landscape. This lithograph is indicative of a lifelong evolutionary body of work that Gottlieb contributed to until his death.
