Dealer FAQ

Grandview Mercantile provides a unique shopping experience for antique dealers, designers and collectors alike. Hundreds of new items arrive every week so opportunities abound to find those well priced special pieces that your clients are seeking. The dealers that we represent have developed a seasoned approach to finding the right inventory to meet the needs of our discriminating buyers. Our assortments are edited and beautifully merchandised in an easy to shop environment. Our specially trained associates can direct you to items than answer your needs or you can comfortably browse at your own pace.

How much does it cost to rent a space?
Showcases are $120 per month for a full case. Floor spaces range from $365 to $425 per month.

Are there any other expenses?
Yes. There is a 12% commission on all sales. In addition, there is a 2% charge for credit card and check sales.

If I rent a space, how long is the lease?
All of our contracts are month to month. However, we do require a 30 day notice if you decide to leave.

When is my rent due?
All rents are automatically deducted from your dealer payout checks. In the event that your sales for a period did not cover all of your rent, it will be your responsibility to come in and pay your rent due by the 5th of the month or there will be a late fee of $25.

How often do I get paid?
Dealers are paid twice a month. For sales from the 1st to the 15th, paychecks are available on the 18th. for sales from the 16th thru the end of the month, checks are available on the 3rd.

Do you sell my items at an automatic discount?
Dealers with a registered vendor's license receive an automatic 10% discount on any items priced $20 or above if they pay in cash. For credit card or check purchases, the discount drops to 8% due to the bank processing charges. Customers who are not tax exempt do not receive any automatic discount. On items that are $150 or above, we will allow them tender an offer which we will call to you for your acceptance or counter offer.

What about security?
We have many security enhancements in place to insure that your items are as safe as possible in an antique mall setting. There is a state-of-the-art- security system with over thirty interior and exterior cameras, motion detectors, full camera remote back room monitoring, double security locks on all doors, cellular back up with power supply monitoring, smash proof glass on fine jewelry cases, iron cage enclosure on fine jewelry cases, glass break detectors and much more.

How much volume can I expect to do each month?
As with everything in life, the more effort and planning that you put into merchandising your space, the more volume you will do. Our average whole showcase dealer does between $800-$1000 per month (for non fine jewelry showcases) and our fine jewelry showcases do between $2000 and $5000 per month. Our average floor space, depending on size, does between $4000 to $6000 per month.

Can I sell new items in my space?
In some cases this is permitted but the guidelines are strict. If accepted into Grandview mercantile you will be provided a Policies and Guidelines manual.

How do I know what I am selling during the month?
With each paycheck, you will receive a detailed accounting of everything that you sold during the pay period. You will also be able to access your sales on a daily basis by logging on to www.mall-central.com.

Can I use the back room to store inventory that does not fit into my space?
No. There is no storage available.

When am I allowed to work on my space?
You may come in any time during the week or early in the day on weekends. Major floor moves and merchandising are not permitted on weekends due to the increased traffic.
