Deck Your Dining Room in 5 Easy Steps
November 6, 2014
Don't let intricate table settings like this one intimidate you. Putting it all together can be easy and a lot of fun, too. Just follow our 5-step guide to get your dining room decked out for the holidays.
Find something you love and build your setting around it. Veer from the typical floral arrangement and get creative here. We combined three separate items to make the centerpiece above.
You can also add a few accessories for a more dramatic look.
Forget about everything matching perfectly. Try mixing a couple of patterns together with colors that go with your dining room decor. (See some of our holiday china here.)
These should complement your centerpiece, and can include serving dishes, salt and pepper shakers, creamer and sugar bowl. Maybe even a small pumpkin or two.
It's like bling for your table. A pretty goblet can really set the mood. Water and wine glasses also help balance out the teacups and saucers at the top of the place settings.
Finish things off with flatware and napkins. And voila!
See, it's not so hard when you break it down, right? Remember to just have fun with it. You'll end up with a dinner setting that reflects your personality and gives your guests a memorable welcome.
